RUM HAVANA CLUB

Havana Club
The origins of Havana Club date back to 1878 when José Arechabala, the founder of Havana Club, opened the "La Vizcaya" distillery in Cardenas, on the Cuban coast.
The name Havana Club was chosen to unify two worlds: traditional Cuban roots and famous Havana and the internationally known nightlife of Havana reminiscent of clubs. These two elements continue to be the core of the brand's identity.
In 1935, the Havana Club bar opened in Cathedral Square, in the heart of Havana. From the 1930s to the 1950s, the cocktails in Havana Club bat were prepared by the most famous visitors of the time from Mary Pickford to Marlène Dietrich, from Jean-Paul Sastre to Ernest Hemingway, from Nat King Cole to Gary Cooper.
In the problematic decade of the 1950s under the regime of Fulgencio Batista, competition led the brand into serious financial problems.
After the Revolution, the Cuban government revived Havana Club and produced its own brand of rum. A state distillery was created in Santa Cruz del Norte, near Havana, where the best Cuban technicians and rum masters began to manufacture Havana Club rum.
Today, Havana Club is the only real brand of Cuban rum internationally. From Europe to South America, symbolizes the supremacy, tradition and passion of Cuban rum.
